Kristin Courington is passionate about making an impact in the community where she lives, works and plays. Although she was born in Colorado she grew up in a small town near Johnstown, PA. Upon graduation from Duquesne University with a degree in Business Administration, Kristin headed west to Greeley, CO where she spent a year as an Americorps*VISTA with the Weld County United Way focused on capacity building for organizations working with historically underserved youth. After a year of community service Kristin moved to Denver to earn her Masters in Public Administration from CU Denver while working in the membership department at the Girl Scouts of Colorado. Eventually taking on the role of Vice President of Program for Girl Scouts across the state Kristin helped expand programming to new communities and gained experience in budgeting, project management, event planning, and staff supervision.
Having fallen in love with Evergreen and all that the area offers, Kristin and her husband were thrilled to find their home in the foothills and knew it would be a great place to grow their family. In 2015, Kristin co-founded the local group “Hike it Baby” and spent nearly every day hiking/strolling the trails in and around Evergreen. Wanting to continue non-profit work Kristin became involved in the arts community as the Business Manager for the Evergreen Children’s Chorale overseeing fundraising, marketing, financial management, and board development. Kristin volunteers as a Girl Scout troop leader, serves as Treasurer for the Wilmot Elementary PTA and in any spare time can be found hiking (usually with her dog, Jane), camping, skiing, paddle boarding or practicing yoga.
